Paving The Path To Education For Our Kids

Here at Hammer Associates, we value not only hard work at the agency but also in the community. One of our main goals is to help protect those in the communities around us, including giving back through volunteer work. Trusted advisor Troy Millward is a prime example of what it means to give back to the community.

Troy has been volunteering with a local program called Austin Partners in Education since 2010. The program works to help provide under-resourced communities in the Austin area with innovative, volunteer-based academic and mentoring programs. APIE’s 1,500 volunteers work with students in pivotal junctures in their education, providing a vital extension of academic and social/emotional support to students.

Troy works with students as a mentor, helping them stay on track when things get tough. “These students are great kids,” says Troy. “Sometimes life just hits them hard and they need a helping hand to get back on their feet. It makes me extremely proud when the students re-engage with their education.”
